Rachel James’ ex-husband is released from prison determined to reclaim her and her little girl — the child is his key to controlling the James fortune. Frightened, Rachel flees to Denver with the child who hasn’t uttered a word since her daddy went to prison.

He had it all- a financially stable, successful career and the overwhelming support of his loved ones. Rumer wasn't in need of saving. She didn't need his help. She had gotten this far on her own...why accept a strangers obvious charity? Bain wasn't trying to save her, nor was he donating his time freely. Has Bain finally found his match in the ring of life? Can Rumer crush his undefeated streak? Sneak Peek of BAIN Prologue An inkling, that’s how it always starts. Something that can’t be seen, only felt, hardens into knots in your gut. Catching you off guard, unaware as to why you feel that way. You start questioning everything around you and wondering what’s going to go off like a bomb, because this feeling always comes back to something bad. I couldn’t have predicted that the something bad was going to be horrific, no one could have known. Yes, the possibilities were endless as to what could have caused the feeling of my stomach sinking, the nausea threatening to exhale what I ate earlier for lunch. I didn’t expect a phone call as I stood in line at airport security, to change my life forever. To cause irreversible damage. “Lawson, what’s up?” “You need to meet me at your place, immediately.” I hear Lawson say over the line in a haunting tone. “You know I can’t, I’m headed to Vegas. Remember, the meeting you sat up?” “Bain that can wait, this cant. Please, I can’t explain over the phone.” Something about Lawson’s tone told me I shouldn’t argue, that he needed me to just shut my mouth and do as he asked. He wouldn’t have called me without reason. Even while running out of the airport and hailing a cab, my baggage in hand, did I not recognize the sickening twist of my stomach to be a sign of what was about to come. Tossing money to the cab driver I haul ass into Sara’s and my apartment. The door opens as I approach it, Lawson’s face greeting me. His eyes drawn down, looking away from me. It’s bad. I know it is. “Tell me.” His eyes meet mine, and he breaks. Fucking folds right in half, his weight too much to hold up underneath the stress of whatever it is he has to tell me. My gut. The feeling. This is why. This moment right here, it’s going to define my life. “There’s been an accident…We need to get to hospital. I’m driving us.” Sara. Samantha. My world. My life. The reason I’m doing what I do with such devotion. “What?” I pause, my thoughts leaving me. I stumble back, falling on my ass. On my front porch. I just…this can’t be real. This isn’t real. It’s just a horrible nightmare that I’m bound to wake up from at any minute. No. “Bain, get in my truck. Now.” Lawson says with renewed strength. I stare at him, one million questions on the tip of my tongue. Author Bio I reside in Glens Falls, NY with my daughter and husband. These cover more legal ground, as well as flesh out the terms of copyright use for you, the customer. Be sure to read through those here.
Also, due to some recent issues I've run into, new regulations have been added in regard to custom designs. Keep reading for the details. IN REGARD TO REVISIONS: Limitations to revisions are flexible. If you are NOT certain on the design even after we've discussed it, please request a mockup, as one free mockup will also be included upon request. IF YOU DO NOT REQUEST A MOCKUP AND AN ENTIRE DESIGN IS SCRAPPED, YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR 50% OF THAT DESIGN. Once verbal approval has been made, there will be a $10.00 fee PER alteration thereafter. IN REGARD TO PAYMENTS: Payment by Paypal. Above prices subject to change at any time. 50% of payment is due prior to beginning of services, and is NON-REFUNDABLE. Final 50% of payment is due upon verbal approval of final design. By making payment all clients agree to and are bound by the copyright agreement. I've added a section on the Pricing Information page to help you understand and be better prepared for what I need in order to create your custom design, and have a better understanding of what you're looking for. Don't forget! On January 1st, ALL paperback prices (custom & ebook) will be increasing by $10.00 (trilogy paperback prices will be increasing by $30.00). This includes the combo packages. This amount is to cover the cost of an actual printed edition of your book. I purchase every published paperback design to add it to my physical portfolio. It's become too pricey. Instead of raising all of my prices, I've chosen to simply tack on this small extra fee. Please note that this amount may be refundable under certain circumstances. Last but not least, I want to mention once again that your designers (myself included) are human beings. The amount of time they spend on your design is part of their job, and they should be compensated for it. If you have ever has a design worked on, whether it was completed or not, and chose to find a new designer because you weren't satisfied with the design, you are still expected to pay for the work done. You don't have a roofer start your roof, then switch roofers because you weren't satisfied with the speed in which the first was getting work done, and NOT pay the first roofer for the work. It doesn't matter if you weren't happy with the speed, you still pay. If you don't want to pay, you better expect to discuss it in a legal setting. My prices are intentionally low so that striving authors who can't afford hundreds of dollars for a sharp cover can still afford it. To say I'm frustrated would be a drastic understatement. In the last few months, I have had several authors attempt to take advantage of me and my low fees by trying to get certain services done free. It's extremely rude and disrespectful, Yes, you still need to have manners in a professional setting. Secondly, don't ever tell a designer that you've "worked with other designers before and they did this and this". I'm not that designer. If you prefer the way they did business, there's nothing stopping you from going back to them for continued services. I apologize if this information seems rude or snippy, but I don't appreciate the treatment, and neither does any other designer. Guaranteed. Before I forget, there is one more thing. Facebook is changing their regulations again. Surprise, surprise. They're making it essentially impossible for followers (likers) to see posts in their newsfeeds. Unless you visit my Facebook page on your own, or I pay to boost/promote every single post (which I cannot afford), you will not be able to see any updates. Because of this, I have started a Facebook group so that you have a higher chance of seeing my posts. Everything will be posted in both locations. Also, I've joined TSU and would be thrilled to have you friend/follow me there. Lastly, if you have not done so, consider subscribing to my newsletter. I only send one out a month, so your inbox will not be bombarded. The only exception to this rule is if there are updates that are pertinent, such as the copyright terms (legal, hefty duty stuff). If you have ANY questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. Here are some things you may need to know:
I wanted to quickly touch on two things: providing correct attribution in your work that is well deserved, and respecting your designer's opinions.
I've seen it done before. In fact, when I first started designing, I did it as well without even knowing. Illegal font usage. Just because a site provides free downloads to fonts doesn't mean they're free to use commercially. In fact, a large majority of them are for personal use only. Be sure to check! The figure below is a screenshot from dafont.com, one of the more commonly used free font sites. Again, "free font site" does not mean the font is 100% no-strings-attached free. It simply means you don't have to pay to download. I've circled points of importance in a minty green. Dafont.com gives you the option to filter the types of fonts you view by their license (see below). They also show which fonts are literally 100% free to use (personal or commercial), and which are obviously not. Most "free" font sites provide this information one way or another. If you don't see it specifically stated anywhere, be safe. Automatically assume that all fonts have a separate commercial license regulation, and search for how to get commercial usage rights.
There are also some sites that ARE 100% free, both personal and commercial, such as fontsquirrel.com and Google Fonts. This is no different than someone pirating your ebook, authors. Please be respectful to the creators of the fonts that make your cover art shine! See all of those? Don't use them. Ever.
